Autumn is Yin within Yang. The dryness of the autumn affects the Lung and lead to itch throat, coughing, dryness lips and etc. It is the time to replenish our lung to boost up our defensive system to face the coming cool weather. Fig and Pear soup is one of the Chinese soups for it. You can get the ingredient easily in any Asian supermarket.
Ingredient
-
3 pcs of dried fig
-
1 fresh pear (asian pear)
-
2 cups of water
-
Optional: 100 g lean pork meat
Cooking Steps

Wash the dried fig and pear
-
Slice the pears length wise in quarters
-
Remove the core of the pear
-
Put fig and sliced pear (and meat) into a small pot that can serves for 2 people

Pour water into the pot
-
Close the lid
-
Cook on low heat for 1 hour
Note: season with with salt if using meat.
